Hi, I'm Jason Andress.
I'm a security researcher, author, and educator. I've taught undergraduate and graduate security courses since 2005, and my doctoral work in computer science focused on data protection. I also do independent vulnerability research, including responsible disclosure work that has resulted in CVE credits, and I've written several books along the way, most recently Foundations of Cybersecurity (2nd ed., No Starch Press).
Securing Applications is where I'm bringing that work together: writing, mentoring, and eventually hands-on training. Software doesn't fail randomly. It fails in specific, learnable ways.
